Recommended to me by their sister store, Ballad of the Bird Dog, I wandered into this joyful little liquor store + market! A carefully curated selection of craft (with a few big names too) spirits and many Texas-local canned beers. I liked that you could buy a beer by the can as well.The manager on site was extremely informative and very charming. So glad I was recommended this spot and will return if I’m ever back in Brenham.

I love the quality, and style of 1844! It’s a beautiful space, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff! You can count on finding small batch, unique offerings - wine, liquor, beer, and even snacks, and local grocery items. Plus you can’t beat the iconic mural and vintage liquor sign 😽 - all the love!
